Graham A Hunter (born. 6 February 1963, Southampton) alumni of UAL (The University Of the Arts London)

2011 – Present; Graham Hunter Gallery, Baker Street London, promoting this highly successful artist at his own Gallery exhibiting recent paintings that show the
 infuenced of artists such as Sam Francis and Jackson Pollock.

 

2000 - 2010 Graham exhibited regularly at The A & D Gallery; Chiltern Street London with a retrospective being curated by owner Daniel Brant in 2009. 

In 2004, at the first attempt, Graham had two paintings selected and hung at the Royal Academy of Art, Summer Exhibition.

1986 - 1999 Exhibited rarely, selling privately to collectors, his work of this period was mostly on paper and he developed a deliberate expressionist style of painting that obsessed on life and death ( fuelled by the loss of his step father to cancer in 1986). Paintings emerged that were strangley beautiful with intense colour and mark making.


1982 – 1985 Wimbledon school of Art: studying painting under Bernard Cohen, Prunella Clough, Maggie Hambling, Christopher Le Brun, David Whitaker and Terry Frost along with Richard Layzell (performance), Michael Vaughn and Jane Joseph. 

With art history taught by Gray Watson.


1981 – 1982 Winchester school of Art:  Foundation in Fine art Painting


1979 – 1981 Itchen College Southampton Graham came under the Tutelage of Robin Corbin who fired his passion and encouraged him to reach out for a life in art.

 

Paintings are in private collections in Europe, America and Australia
